The ADDitional stress is real but can be overcome

What is ADHD?



 ADHD stands for Attention Deficit  Hyperactivity Disorder. Some people just have Attention Deficit Disorder.It is often began in childhood &can persist into Adulthood. It can contribute to low self- esteem,Trouble relationship , difficulty at school or work.  Now the difficulty at school or work depends on if you have ADD or ADHD because I am not hyperactive or hyper sothat means i don't act goofy at school and at home WHEN I'm not on my medicine . Now, ADHD and ADD can mess with your emotions and behavior . According to www.additudemag.com ,They talk about how emotional  issues take a toll with the brain, check it out!   "Sometimes the working memory impairments of ADHD allow a momentary emotion to become too strong, flooding the brain with one intense emotion.” Thomas Brown, PhD., explains why (and how) ADHD sparks such intense anger, frustration, and hurt."

Why is homework such a biggie for us ADD?

Well!  I know all about this one because almost everyday i go through this! My feeling ( just like all people) depend on my day, BUT even if I my day was light, I still come home groggy!  To make matters worse , I don't  get home from school until 4:30 p.m! Now, remember when I said we have emotional problems? Yeah! That's when everything goes down hill because of mixed or unnecessary feelings . OK! So do you want to know why this happens to people that have ADHD? This happens because too much stress is being put on the child. In case you didn't know, people with ADD or ADHD don't have good memory! So they have to right literally everything down that the teachers says. Back on track! Think about it ! ADD kids are already stressed out at school because there is always an extra step because of memory problems. Then there is home! ADD kid's medicine usually run out by the time they get home.Especially 6th graders and up! It is really bad nowadays  because some of these teachers sends home packets of work and just expect for the kids to complete it! Then there is those  teachers that don't know how to control there classes  when the students act a plum fool! So whatever the teacher wasn't able to go over, the students bring home for homework!!!! 

How to overcome the homework problem for ADD:

  • Take breaks- breaks are essential for ADD. Usually take them after every subject. Don't let the breaks be longer than 30 min. or else they wont get anything done! Yes, they should take there 1st break after snack time. 
  • Be patient- Parents!, patient is the key for calmness! I know this hard for you but think about, When a parent yells at you, you are so nervous that you say the wrong answer (even when you knew it). That is because stress is put on you because the parent isn't patient.
  • Take 3 deep breaths- studies show that taking deep breaths are the key to calmness. That is what i did recently. When I took deep breaths , I was really calm . When I'm calm, my parents are calm.When my parents are calm , everyone is calm. FYI, a ounce of responsibility comes out each time you do the right thing !




  Impulsively is the toughest thing to get rid of

The meaning of impulsively is doing something without thinking of the consequences. That is really tough to overcome. And "normal'' people and ADD people both have that in common so i don't really have alot to say about this but I can tell you this : impulsively is not impossible to get over but its not hard. Remember this:fight your urge to do the wrong thing 

 ANXIETY 

 Anxiety is soooooo big because it can leave you depress . I f you don't want to be depressed, take Welbutrion . It helps depression. Now anxiety is the same thing for anxious. It makes you super scared but all you have to do is take deep breath i  and out. If you do this , you will feel sooo much better and you wont be scared. When I have to present something, when a teacher calls me and I'm not paying attention , i will start getting anxious but i take deep  breath in and out! IF u do this, i promise you will feel better.
BE GLAD YOUR YOU NO MADER IF YOU HAVE ADD OR ADHD SOME WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU FOR YOU !
